Niet meer weg te denken vandaag, maar ook redelijk abstract of moeilijk ‘vast te pakken’.UNIZO-sectorwerking wil, in samenwerking met VAIA, Vlaamse Academie voor Artificiële Intelligentie (*), de aangesloten sectororganisaties een goed zicht geven.

Hiervoor organiseren we, voor elke Sectorcluster, een bijeenkomst.

Deze workshop richt zich exclusief naar de sectorverantwoordelijken en de medewerkers van de sectororganisaties die aangesloten zijn bij UNIZO.

VAIA, de Vlaamse AI Academie, is een samenwerking van alle Vlaamse universiteiten en hogescholen en wil professionals en onderzoekers in Vlaanderen doelgericht laten bijleren over artificiële intelligentie. Christos Chatzichristos is a post-doc researcher in Electrical department of KUL and AI-expert in VAIA. Within this talk he will try to explain what AI is and how is transforming the healthcare sector. What are the possible benefits that AI can offer for both medical professionals and patients? Shall we have some concerns about the evolution AI will bring in healthcare?

A specific focus will be given in specific disease use-cases (such as tumor segmentation and Alzheimer ) and the combination of AI with data obtained from wearables (for epilepsy, sleep disorders and Parkinson). Furthermore we will elaborate on the future of AI in healthcare pointing out the need of privacy preserving solutions and getting a brief introduction in the more futuristic AI-driven digital twins of human organs (e.g kidney and heart) ."

"Work and research in healthcare are evolving rapidly, partly due to the introduction of innovative technology and far-reaching digitalization. Artificial Intelligence AI is one of those technologies that is already impacting healthcare today, to the benefit of patients and professionals, and will continue to do so in the future. Current and future professionals and scientists are challenged in appropriate applications of AI. What is the added value of AI in healthcare and what are the implications for data, ethics and regulatory issues?”
